So a lil convenient store handed me this back in some change yesterday and the colors immediately caught my eye! I tried to get the lighting right last night but the best I could get doesn't do the colors any justice! This thing is shiny and you can really see the iridescence in the sunlight! Hopefully you can see some in the pic, but starts off dark in the center of coin, and changes, pretty symmetrically, to a bright and glossy edge! I'm not sure if this is normal for a newly minted coin, or if someone put some heat, or something else on it to make it look so iridescent?

Looks like it was an ender coin and got toned. Iv been reading that some of the new rolls of cents are toning really quickly.

It's unlikely that the coin picked up this toning while being an 'ender' in a coin roll, given we're talking about a 2021 coin. Now, if it had been an ender for 30+ years, then that's a viable outcome. I do like the toning, even if (most likely) heat induced. As an aside, I go through thousands and thousands of cents monthly, and the most recent bullseye end-toner shield cent I've found (only a few) was a 2016 last year.

Question, what does the reverse look like? Any chance we can see a reverse image? Thanks.

I could definitely see it being heated, but weather flame or Sun idk, I recently saw several threads of someone or multiple people posting heavily toned 2021 cents for fresh rolls. The fact that the middle is so dark though you guys are probably correct about heat, seeing the other side would definitely help. I just imagine direct heat from a flame would take away any luster but I don't know much about toning tbh lol. Looks cool though.

Sure, but will be a lil while before I get home. The reverse didn't have such brilliant colors, from what I remember

I'm guessing they put the heat to this side!

This it is reverse heat. Is use air heat to dissimulate toning.
