I have had this coin for a few years .
Its in a Older Blue ANACS Holder and was either in a album or old soap box holder before that .
I think it was in a old soap box due to the number.
I think this coin may have been dipped in the past but then edge toned.
it is straight graded and I think it would straight grade at PCGS or NGC .
I may send it with a few other crossovers.
Coin looks decent in hand the toning is not quite as dark as it appears and the coin has alot of luster around the devices and under the tail feathers still.
Not my prettiest Morgan but a tough coin in higher grades .
I tried pics in bright natural light and also my new Jewelry light box.
Some coins just do not want to photo well for me.

I'll take a guess at AU-55 .
(Possible details from neck scratches)

Mid-AU, but I'm leaning toward AU-53. I would expect ANACS has it as AU-55.

I'm hesitating at the double gouge at the throat and the smaller gouge at the designer's initial. To me, on an AU coin, those gouges are fairly deep and in prominent places. I'm concerned that this could get detailed. The rest of the contact marks on the obverse and reverse look spot on for an AU coin.

IMHO, submitting for crossover with a "do not holder" for details and retaining the ANACS grade as the minimum might be your best move. That way, you at least could retain the ANACS straight grade.

AU-55. I don't see much chance at MS for this one.

We will find out . I am going to send it to PCGS and try and do a crossover with min. AU-50
It is now in a ANACS AU-53 and was likely net graded due to the neck as it looks more 55 in Hand .
On another note I only paid around 50.00 so did ok regardless
