I know there was a post way back when where a couple people had listed what they included on their OFEC list. Unfortunantely, I can't find it now. I'm looking for a more than just a standard list of countries that exist now, something that includes italian/german states, obscure places etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

thx-
~christina

The one posted on the forum a while back is gone.

I know that Sap has a small OFEC list.

The everycoin group on Yahoo Groups has the most thorough list I've seen yet. It contains over 5000 entities and covers notgeld, tokens and just about anything else you can imagine. As far as I know, access is only provided to group members

Though not a perfect list you could start with all of the current members of the United Nations

Christina,

I know you said you want more than just current countries, but I thought I would share a site I stumbled across with you and everyone else. Go to cia.gov (yes, the CIA's web-site) look for "World Fact Book" under "Quick Links" on the upper right side. It is an immensely detailed "catalog" of every country in the world. They also have the flags of all the countries in .gif format, and some nice maps. It's all download-able.

One of the pages is a list of countries. Of course, it doesn't say which ones have mints, but there is an amazing amount of information here. (As there should be. It's the CIA!)

Ever wondered how many paved airport runways Ethiopia has? Answer:15 See what I mean!?!?!
