Very nice and very dramatic! Looks like a staple to me.

The second image to me looks like damage to the coin. You can see the movement of the metal in it. If the affected area gray? If so it is damage. Too bad it was a die clash coin.

Nice clash! I agree with coop on the damage though, you can see the raised metal, to the sides of the trench, in your really good angled pic.

Good luck on the Cud!

Chances are if you've seen 15 rolls of the new box, you might already have seen all the dies that struck the coins in that box. I usually give up after 5-10 rolls. But check for the die clashes. With one there, there might be more of these?

Can we see different angles of that anomaly with different lighting aspects? Please?
I'm not entirely convinced it is just PMD yet

I vote strike through. If it was damage that deep, you'd get through the plating.

You can see the zinc in all three new pics. If you look at the enlarged pic of the OP's I posted you can also see the metal, raised above the field, that would not be there if it were a strike though.

If it is a struck through the ditch will be slightly rounded. It is a coin scratch it will be flat on the bottom. (90 degree sides on the bottom)
