The second image to me looks like damage to the coin. You can see the movement of the metal in it. If the affected area gray? If so it is damage. Too bad it was a die clash coin.

thanks CoinHunter27, coop no gray. I am going thru a box of OBW 2021. i hope to find that crazy BIG ERROR Retained Cud... what ever it is called... i am on the 15th roll and havent seen one. I dont think it is happening but will continue to march on.

Nice clash! I agree with coop on the damage though, you can see the raised metal, to the sides of the trench, in your really good angled pic.  Good luck on the Cud!

Can we see different angles of that anomaly with different lighting aspects? Please? I'm not entirely convinced it is just PMD yet

I vote strike through. If it was damage that deep, you'd get through the plating.

not the greatest of pictures...
but it does test the eyes
what are you really seeing.. time to move on to the next coin

If it is a struck through the ditch will be slightly rounded. It is a coin scratch it will be flat on the bottom. (90 degree sides on the bottom)

camera setup: canon 90D with a 100mm macro lens (dual hobby camera)
all pictures I had different lighting ...anywhere from: 4 room lights 40 watt bulb 15 watt bulb w/peace of paper the full obverse picture ...refracting light with 40 watt bulb
