Pretty sure this is the right DDO for this coin I just found tonight.

I have two- 003's and two - 008's, and this one is different from them, and matches the 006 on Chuck's site more closer.

*Still looking for the BIG ONE (001!)

It looks quite promising as 1972P-1DO-006. If so, you have found the second scarcest of all the different known dies for 1972P...the scarcest and by far most difficult to locate would be 1972P-1DO-004. Not very many of those are known, and in fact recently a higher grade uncirculated specimen auctioned for over $2000!

Thanks Chuck!

WOW, $2000 for a 1972P-1DO-004

Do you have a picture of what that coin looks like?

I don't have photos of 1972P-1DO-004 currently. I am working on acquiring them, but do not have any as of present. I do not have nor have I ever had an example of 1972P-1DO-004. They are quite scarce.

Watch Coin World over the coming weeks. Ken Potter has been soliciting information from a pool of people to compile an article on that very die. It should be quite good, he picked a decent size list of Lincoln Cent variety experts to give him all they had on the variety. I was involved and saw some of the correspondence from others.

Thanks for the info Chuck.

Thanks stewart for the pics.

I saved the pics, so when I find the next one, I'll be able to compare it right away (LOL).

Regarding this coin, (006) here is a pic of the reverse die marker scratches.

Its a perfect match (IMHO) to Chuck's pic!

This is definitely a 1972P 1DO-006.

My coin:

1972-P-Lincoln-Memorial-Cent-1-DO-006

Chuck's Site:
