Hi, y'all!

I'm thinking it's a Deteriorated Doubled Die with some Mechanical Doubling, although with all the doubling effects going on, there looks to be some "distortion" on the middle of some letters, but, that could just be the effect of DDD.

Here are some pics to see what I mean:

Machine doubling, die wear and an aging die is what your are seeing. No hub doubling. The large dates DDO are even larger than your devices:

Side by side of a normal and a DDO side by side.

coop to the rescue again! I see, so, the key point here is that the DDO is larger than the devices, that's what you meant by thickness earlier, and the largeness and distortion are caused by the hub doubling.

One step closer to identifying that ever-elusive doubled die obverse or reverse! Thanks again, coop.

Also the spread is seen on the centers of the devices, not on the outside/inside areas of the devices. Machine Doubling is seen on the outer and insides of the devices.

The spread is seen on the centers of the devices, not the inside or outside, just to reiterate, key points:

For Doubled Dies:

1. Thickness - thicker or larger than your normal devices
2. Spread (or separation/doubling/distortion) is seen on the centers of the devices (not on the inside or outside like Machine Doubling)

Thank you for the images, coop, I looked at it for a few minutes, to engrain it in my mind, lol.

The more your eye discerns, the more variety coins you will find. Machine Doubling is the biggest obstacle to over come, your grasping it now.

@coop, I'm trying and putting in the effort and beginning to grasp and discern and of course bound to make mistakes along the way, which is fine, as long as I take note and put in an effort into correcting my discerning mistakes and put an effort into not making them again

I wish I could quickly help out other members with the identification of errors and whatnot and contribute a little bit better, but I could barely or not even help myself, all in due time I guess, and no rush...
