Hello! This is my first post though I have been reading the forums for a while now! I have found a cool die crack protruding from Washington's mouth on some quarters from a fresh bank roll. I have found at least a dozen examples so far. What do you guys think? Has anyone else found this yet?

I don't think it's a crack. Probably a die gouge or a die clash. Are the others exactly the same? Washington has a toothpick. I heard he had bad teeth.

I could definitely could see it being a die gouge. Yes, every penny example is exactly the same. At first, I thought it was a scratch until I found it over and over. It really does look like a toothpick! I imagine it wasn't easy to get food out of his wooden teeth! lol

Usually the result of a die clash or poor striking definition.
