Just die wear between the devices and rim direction. The big DDO that year is on the 'S' mint. But here is what the reverse die wear would look like as the die ages:
1969---D--Lincoln-DDO-&-DDR-?
Your are looking the wrong areas for a doubled die. Look at the centers of the devices. Not on the outside/inside edges of the devices. That is where you will find die wear and Machine Doubling.
