Just remember : just about all dates, mm's and denominations of U.S. gold coins have been counterfeited some in good quality gold, only a tiny about lower in purity, and/or AGW, but enough the make counterfeiting profitable.
From the appearance, I understand the OP doubts re authenticity.
Despite the possibility of counterfeit in good quality gold, the potential value is still high enough the justify the shipping and grading fees, just to prove authenticity.

the reverse is not congruent with the obverse. i'd be a little skeptical also as it appears to have significantly more wear than the obverse. in any case the eye appeal stinks. i'd pass
