Please help me with this coin. It is silver, quite chunky at 6g or 0.2oz, about 3/4 inch or 1.8cm in diameter. Beyond that I know nothing about it

It's a half rupee from India, but I can't be more specific than that. Hopefully another member will be able to identify it more fully.

Note added later: Possibly Shah Alam II. Looks similar to this one

It would be nice to add a mint and KM number to your attribution. Looking through the half rupees of Shah Alam II in Krause, yours looks quite similar to those of the Surat mint, KM #707, though your year is not listed there. Krause sometimes doesn't include all the possible years. You have a nice piece of history.

I don't think this is from Surat, the mintname is wrong for that.
I don't have any better suggestions though.
