I posted this coin awhile back but the photos weren't great. With better photos I'm hoping to get some feedback wether or not this looks like a proof capped die strike and how scarce that would be. There are some fine scratches on obverse and there is a color change on south obverse and north reverse which could indicate an altered surface.

Based off of the reverse I am confident in saying this is not a proof coin. I see what is likely hairlines on the reverse and the obverse just gives off that cleaned look so I would say that what's making it look so shiny is the fact that it has likely been cleaned. Still, a dramatic error! Very cool!

Thanks Coinhunter27, That makes sense. A proof die wouldn't have those abrasion marks and it does look cleaned.

Looks like a Philly 1963 cent ( business strike) struck through a capped die. Note the rims. They are showing me struck through issue. And it is probably not polished. (Sorry on my tablet now when I get back into my office, then I will check the one again)
If the coin was polished it looses a lot of it error value.

Agree this isn't a proof, but a great example for sure.
