Please offer your grading opinions on this 1901O Morgan dollar. These are sellers photos. Thanks! "Nummi rari mira sunt, si sumptus ferre potes." - Christophorus filius Scotiae

I'm somewhere around MS63 based on these photos, the chin hit is probably a lot worse than it looks and there appears to be a bit of wear to the lettering.

I'm going to say all the rub on the high points are bag rub and call it MS63. As TobyJ mentioned above, the chin hit might actually be worse in hand.

A pretty average looking MS-63.

While MS 64 wouldn't surprise, I see MS 63.

Thank you for your insights. I was thinking 63. Agree that the lighting may be hiding detail in the cheek hit. Will pass on this one.

Solid 63, shot 64, but neck and chin detract.

63 but not sure what is up with the rim at 4-5 O'clock on the obverse.

Quote: not sure what is up with the rim at 4-5 O'clock on the obverse. I assumed that was a hit, but looking again not as sure.

typical average strike for this year. subdued luster if photos are accurate. it might have even been lightly dipped. surface preservation is not too bad. just a couple marks. the biggest standout being the chin area. if the luster looks like this in hand I cant get it to MS64 but since its not in hand this is a toss-up. MS63
