Here is something I came across while going through an inheritance I received. Has anyone seen Dolly Dolphin before? Unfortunately, the few dimes that were in it were from the 80s and 90s. No one involved with this has ever been anywhere near Tipton, Indiana. Does anyone have anything similar to this they would like to share?

These saving books used to be a very popular item with banks to give out to children to encourage saving. Most of them are for saving dimes but there are some that were for quarters Their heyday seems to have been between the late 30's and mid 60's. They come in many designs and some different styles. They were a stock item and you can find different banks with the same design, the printer would just change the name of the bank.

You last photo isn't clear enough for me to make out the copyright date but I think it may be 1946. The use of the pictures of the Mercury dimes makes this date reasonable.

Sorry for the low quality photography. The copyright date is 1966, which made the winged liberty "mercury" dimes seem a little anachronistic to me.
