when do they become significant ? I have seen many where it kinda thins out some of the mottoes but most you can still read.
I found a 199 and when ya looked in the right light you can see the last 1

here is one that I found with the last number of the date like yours, they told me nice find and to hold on to it.. they also told me that it could be a "die trial" but Bill informed me that it has the rim on it which signifies that it made it to a step that die trials dont make it to, so if it has a rim on it and looks somewhat like a Grease Filled Die it cant be a die trial, just so you know. wait on the pro's for more input.

How much is significant? That's a good question to which there isn't much of a good answer. There are a large number of examples - into the tens of millions at least - in pocket change right now. I would sayt he top ten percent are the ones to go after. What is the top ten percent? Generally ones that have at least half of the lettering and design obliterated by globs of gunk. Anything less, although interesting enough, would be too common to warrant much, if any premium value.
