1989 Memorial Cent PMD Or Die Issue?

FourFiveFive New Member United States 19 Posts	Posted 03/09/2022 8:40 pm Hey all, got a weird one here. I'm fairly sure this is PMD but the raised sections on the reverse have me questioning that. I think either the plating wore through and then was exposed to some sort of acid that corroded the zinc, or this was a damaged die coin that was later exposed to some sort of acid. Hard for me to tell, does anyone have a better idea as to what's going on with this one? Thanks! Report this Post to the Staff

I have several blistered cents like that and I found one the other day with that weird shadowing on top of the letters where the clad didn't take.
