Figured I'd share this. I always wanted to see one of these in hand so this is my first one. There is some zinc exposed on the rim but no split plating in the portrait and devices from what I can see(haven't inspected yet with my loupe). Cost 18 after shipping and I think it was a very fair price. What do you all think? Its about nickel size for reference. I'll get better pics when I have time lol

I do not think the price matter for this coin. It is a nice and first I see like this for this year.

Very nice @wrek. When you get a chance, please post the exact diameter. Always nice to have that data for these. Thx!

There was many 2000 broadstruck and off center struck coins posted in the Facebook group I joined. This one I didn't see split plating on the devices so I wanted it. I suppose I should leave pricing out of my posts as it is pointless for coins you want for your self. Idk what broad stuck zinc cents are worth but I'm really happy to have an example of the error. The one thing that had me a little off with this is it's not uniform. It has an edge that sticks out more then the others. I have no experience with metal work and assume this is just something that happens(like if it was a MAD that stuck a planchet with no collar).
Anyways I'm just extremely happy to have my first broadstruck to examine myself and in such good shape.

Quote: Very nice @wrek. When you get a chance, please post the exact diameter. Always nice to have that data for these. Thx! I never had a chance to go to Canadian Tire to grab callipers in the last few weeks. It's been either the bank for rolls or tools to help. I will be getting some and I'm going on night shift next Monday for 6 months(11pm-7AM. I'll be tiered bull I'll have more time to go to banks and grab things I need.... Unfortunately I'll be able to spend much less time with my son but I'll make it up on my nights off. Here is a comparison photo. It's a little smaller then a Canadian nickel. I could compare it it another cent though.

There are about 4 zillion broadstruck 2000 cents out there. That said, the vast majority are quite minor and with little eye appeal even in MS condition. This coin is an exception, being nicely expanded and far above the average coin from this year. Great purchase! And the wiggly edges are common on all the ones like this that are overly large. I also agree that the lake of split plating is a bonus.

Thanks guys:). This weekend I'll get to have a closer look at it. 18$CAD after shipping was definitely a fair price I think. There was several examples I saw selling for more but didn't look as nice to me.

Congrats on a really nice example. 1999 and 2000 had "gazillions" of broadstruck coins but you found a nice one.
And congrats on your increased knowledge to decide which is a nice one to add to your collection.

And you couldn't have picked a nicer example than this Centered Broadstrike evenly expanded struck out of collar.
