I think I just found my 1st real DDR and not a common MD
It also looks like it was struck though something like a cloth on front.

The coin is one I got from J&Bs coin roll hunt when I purchased 1/2 a box of Kennedys.

Is this what I need to look for when it comes to doubling?

I agree. The machine was so loose that the top and bottom of the die affected the devices slightly differently all in the same swoop.

I agree it's a type of MD.

The secondary part looks raised but there isn't any notching I can see.
