Just curious are there any kind of coins that cant get the pl designation. I really only knew that morgans could get the pl / dmpl designations until recently.
I learned steel cents can get a pl designation same with Trade dollars. And with a quick search Bust coinage & pre-33 gold / walkers / barbers as well as some Seated coinage & some commemorative halves can get a pl designation. All of those seem rare to get those designations.. Ive never seen a Peace dollar with a pl designation.

Are there any type coins that Cant / havent got a pl designation because of the way they were minted? Example has there ever been a Indian Head cent graded with a pl designation? or a pl Standing Liberty quarter?
Just a question that popped into my head

Interesting question. I agree that the early types seldom get the PL designation. I have seen a PL Peace dollar. I haven't seen a Lincoln Cent, Indian cent, any nickels, or any modern coin with the PL label.

I think the lower quality coins that were minted quickly for circulation in high quantities, like cents, were seen with less quality control, therefore have less PL examples.
Suffering from bust half fever.
