I knew I had one put away somewhere. Seems in reasonable nick.

aUnc to Unc. Shame about all the bagmarks on the obverse - it must have rustled around in a sack full of other half crowns on its way out of the mint.

Yeah nothing can be done about the marks, but I think you'll be happy about the doubling marks on the reverse tho ;), or is that just the 2x2?

Its not bad. The marks are unavoidable as all were standard finish and sold loose from the bags in 1949 in New Zealand and overseas. Only about 20 proofs were made and just 2 have been found.

Your coin is in gVF/aEF condition (Wear on hair, quite dull and some light wear on lettering and stars). This is an average condition for these coins mostly souvenired away.

It's a great coin to have and one of my favourites. I have 13 of them (I had 16 but gave 3 away) and they range from UNC down to Good (Yep my pocket piece).
