And "L'Union fait la force" is our national motto". "Eendracht maakt macht" in Dutch, "Unity is strength" in English. Not a bad motto for a federal country, torn apart by 3 communities (Flemish, French and German) into 3 different "states": Flanders, Wallonia and the Brussels Capital District. Each community and each state has its own parliament and government. The Flemish community and the Flemish State united their parliaments and governments so Belgium is proud to be governed by the following governments:1. the federal government; 2. the Flemish government (for Flanders and the Flemish community in Brussels); 3. the Walloon government (Wallonia); 4. the French community government (for the French community in Wallonia and Brussels); 5. the Brussels Capital District government (Brussels); 6. the German community government (the German community lives and makes part of Wallonia).

As you can see: Unity is strength...

Great post, Bart. One reason I enjoy collecting coins so much is that I can acquire random and interesting world facts as I bumble along, keeping me smarter than a fifth grader. Thanks for feeding my addiction, lol.
