I have a 1950 20 franc silver coin from Belgium and was wondering if anyone had any expertise on this coin. I do not have a camera so I can't provide pictures.

If the legend on the coin reads "Belgie" you have yourself a rarity, worth $1200 in UNC condition and $150 in fine.

I suspect the legend more than likely reads "Belgique", and thats the most common year for this type unfortunately.

KM#140.1 if coin aligned. 140.2 if medal aligned. 12,957,000 minted of both types combined. (compared with about 4 to 5 million in other years)
140.1 is worth $7 Unc and 140.2 $125 Unc

0.835 silver with an ASW of 0.2148oz

What do you mean by coin aligned and medal aligned. Do you have a picture of each that I can use to see what kind mine is? Thanks

Coin aligned are what US coins are like, i.e. if you flip it up and down, not sideways, you get the image in the right orientation. If you can flip the coin side by side and you get the image in the right order, that is what you call a medal orientation.
