Guessing there's a die chip on the tail of the S that may be misleading.

Yeah, that's what I thought too. But that straight line in the center is messing with my head. I will probably send them one in. It.may be a new discovery.

@big, you should definitely research this more, but your coin has at least a passing resemblance to 1971-s-rpm-011. Here is the link:

The straight line you are referring too, looks like a die scratch that continues into the field, running east.

The lower loop is showing a damaged mintmark punch on that area.

Note all the listed ones have the same thing, but that is not part of the RPMs.

Thanks for all the input guys - I now see that scratch. This is one of those odd duck coins. I think I may send this one to coin grade company just to confirm.

@spence will do! I will post and see what they say. I think it's a die scratch right underneath a Die Cud of some sort. But I'll post an update when I get it back.
