On Wednesday, I received a $100 1914 series blue-seal Federal Reserve Note which completed that subtype for me. I'll eventually start working on the 1914 series red-seal notes, though these will be much tougher than the blue-seal notes, especially the $50 and $100. Besides the 1914 red- and blue-seal large-size FRN's there are also the high-denomination 1918 series FRN's. However, the $500 and $1000 notes are very expensive, and the $5000 and $10000 notes are essentially unobtainable. I find the reverse designs on the large-size FRN's very appealing, particularly the $100 note. I'm quite happy with the notes I acquired, though the $50 was a lower grade than I had on my want list. However, the one I purchased has a very nice appearance and good paper quality for the grade, in my opinion.

Nice 1914 denomination set @hokiefan. The backs of the notes are the stars of the show. Some of my favorites. Thanks for sharing.

Very nice set! The reverse designs are spectacular. I have to ask what is the significance of the "Midwest Gold Cache" and "The Rickey Collection"?

Quote: I have to ask what is the significance of the "Midwest Gold Cache" and "The Rickey Collection"? These are pedigrees. You can ask for this to be added when submitting. Some add value, some don't. From the PMG website.

As pedigrees go, I seem to recall that The Rickey Collection holds little esteem.

darn that's pretty amazing. And the $50 looks fantastic for a 35.

Thanks again, I appreciate the kind remarks!
Regarding the attribution on those two notes, I pay little attention to those on my coin and currency purchases as they usually don't have any actual significance. It seems Heritage is always auctioning groups of certified coins or notes attributed to some unknown collection or collector.
I'd imagine, though, that coins pedigreed to some of the famous collections, such as Eliasberg, would bring some premium over the same coin without the pedigree. I've not yet been tempted to purchase anything just because of a well-known pedigree, however...

I didn't think either was up there with the biggies like Eliasberg, Bass, Brand, Pogue or similar. I was just wondering if either name was a collection of any significance or just maybe a bank hoard or recent personal collection. I know one member here who has his PCGS graded coins with the name of his collection on the labels.
