with the scratches on the jaw and lapel I cant see it higher than MS65 color using these photos is a challenge. I think it could be RB but lighting could be shadowing it. interesting fields. I cant remember seeing one with those mirror like surfaces

Very cool--almost looks like a proof with that obverse rim--at first glance anyway.

John1 could very well be correct ; It does look like an SMS coin . Reverse looks clean as a whistle . Love the obverse proof-like fields .

Sure looks like at least MS-67. What a beautiful coin.Nice surface on obverse and reverse. I wish my photos would turn out as good as these. It does seem to have a cameo in the top photo but the second photo doesn't show it.Anyway it is a nice 1967 Lincoln which are hard to get in higher grade.Great coin BadThad.

Picked this up at our local show yesterday. The dealer had it in his glass case with $50 on it - of course, that caught my eye. As he was handing me it to I asked why a raw 1967 cent is so valuable. He said it's the best one he's ever seen. After I inspected it for a few seconds I asked him if he had never seen an SMS cent. He said he though it was a biz strike! He was cool about it as I explained and showed him the difference. Obviously, I ended up getting for much, much less....actually, he paid me because he was buying some coins from me and I collected the difference in cash. :) The 2x2 it was in was filthy - got it home and noticed the scratch on the neck after I pulled it out and blew the dust off. arrrrrrgggggg It's a good thing I came out on the deal. This is a details coin now with a scratch right in the middle of it. Other than that, it is what a thought - about an SP-67 coin. I was also hoping the cameo was better under good light - show lighting sucks. The cameo is pretty light but looks better in hand against the mirrored fields.

Ok, without looking at comments.
I see a really clean coin that I want to give a high grade to. Obverse strike seems strong but reverse is a little underwhelming on the stairs. The rest of the reverse looks great on strike tho.
Reverse has a distraction in the fields toward the bottom and some at the rim at the top. Otherwise really clean! Exceptional actually.
Obverse has me questioning tho. Those marks are rather large. And I count too many to give this a full gem grade. Starting at an MS67 for the overall I will deduct one for the mark quantity and size. Then I tend to over grade so I have to deduct another (but I'm hesitant)
Ok, eye appeal. Add one!!! Ms66
Edit - details! I forgot that can happen! Still, doesn't look details bad! But what do I know?!

Awesome pics! Wonder how you can get that detail and still stays less than 300kb?

This it is an SMS coin. Very few are in 67 and plus in CAM. Make the CAM test to see if qualify. Mention: the both sides must have same deg of CAM.

Quote: Awesome pics! Wonder how you can get that detail and still stays less than 300kb? Light, camera, cropping and resize. My SD700IS is only a 6MP cam = 2816x2112 pix. Right from my camera the images are only about 1600k. After crop and resize to 1000x1000 pixels (using Jasc Paint Shop Pro) they easily come out less than 300k - around 160k. I never use ANY post-processing or trickery other than a resize, these things also affect the file size. In this day and age of 20+MP cell phones and cameras the pictures are natively huge. The digital compression must be gigantic to overcome the file size limitations - thereby affecting the quality of the image. If you can, drop your camera down to a lower MP resolution like 2500x2500 or so.

BadThad , I have managed to get 6 ms-67's from PCGS so far and 5 ms-66+ This coin is as good as any of them. A picture seems to inflate some marks or even put marks that are just angles of the copper from my short experiences. I say this to either validate my observations or tell me I am crazy (probably already been decided by most on the forum).

I saw SP67 with that trustingly tantalizing cam hints on obverse, reverse to me is 66. These are too hit and miss for me I bought about 50 sets 3 years ago not all at once but pecking trying to learn SMS grading maybe a cameo? spent money on 7 best they came back 66's no cams. However...I bought some cameos examples for the 1965 66 67 when they were 190 - $260 bucks crapiedoodle I sold them I miss them and their higher than 2018 by alot. Small niche market but young boomers and genXer's are noticing and appreciating these more than 6 years ago. The days of their numbers in hundreds of thousands at shows are now thousands good going T-bop you never know that $600 65 or 66 cameo SMS is in some trailer home in oklahoma

No matter, this coin is ruined with the scratch on it IMO.
