Our local coin club has started a YouTube channel for short videos. These are, basically, YouTube versions of Show & Tell. We hope that this channel will spark interest in different aspects of our hobby. As of today, five videos have been uploaded. Last night, we worked on several more that will be added over the next week or so. The channel is just getting off the ground, so please take a look when you get a chance. Any constructive criticism will be shared with the club. Thanks for taking a look. Subscriptions and likes will help us get noticed!
Quote: did you use text-to-speech for the voice-over?
It is some sort of software package that is text-to-speech. I'm not sure of which program they're using but can find out. I do know that you have to put some pauses and inflections in manually. A few words have required phonetic entry as well. As a computer guru, if you know of a better, no-cost option I'm sure they would be happy to check it out.

To be honest, they sound pretty decent and might be as good as you are going to get.
This had me thinking back to my voice mail product engineering days. We normally used a talent house to record our speech prompts, but a couple times we tested some TTS software with little success... customer feedback was harsh!
If you want a live voice and no one in your group has the desire, you may look at local radio station commercial talent. Many of our customers do this for their outgoing greetings and messaging on hold audio.
However, I almost guarantee there is at least one kid in your club (or related to someone in it) who is dying to do some voice-over work for their social media influencer resume!
To date, the Raleigh Coin Club YouTube channel has uploaded twelve videos. The latest videos deal with a couple of varieties. We continue to slowly add to the library and I hope you'll check them out when you can.
If you would like a specific topic covered and club members have examples to photograph, I'll pass your suggestions along to the group. Thanks for your support.
Quick update on the Raleigh Coin Club YouTube Channel:
We are currently at 18 videos and setting the YouTube world on fire with 259 subscribers! If you have a few minutes, please browse the channel. There are a couple of videos that have thousands of views - most likely artificial numbers generated by a "loop" view of some sort.
We are adding videos now and again. I would welcome your thoughts and comments to help us improve the channel. As you know, fresh content is important to keep a channel viable and There are a couple on-deck. The real challenge is avoiding copyright issues - the person overseeing our content wisely insists on using only original photos. Otherwise, we probably would have another dozen videos up by this time.
