This 1882 Morgan dollar is from Sanfrancisco (It has the S symbol) but looking closely at it the S is very fat/doesn't have much gap between the curves compared to ones I looked up and I was just wondering if it was some type of error or not. Thanks for any help.

. Not my area, but I was thinking maybe flattened from circulation. Let's wait for the pros though.

Not an error.
Either flattened from circulation or at one time there was a die chip
that has worn down. Either way there is no premium.

Guessing John is right - circulation flattening. Maybe there's a VAM with die chips in the MM to start with?

WADR,even if it was an error and I do not think it is,the condition of the coin makes the value only silver value.

Wouldn't a worn die cause the "full" mint mark as well? Just wondering.
