The colors are way more vivid than I can show. Just can't seem to master the lighting. Is this something to consider submitting?

I'll say MS-66RB. I wish you would just ask for a grade rather than fiddle around with you thread titles, as here ("if I could only take good pictures").

I must really get under your skin. Sorry to upset you but it did get you to look LOL. The coin is really nice and I was trying to take better pictures to show you what I am seeing. The greatest thing you guys have shown me is that it's almost impossible to grade a coin from pictures. Regardless of the quality of picture. A slight adjustment of the camera or lighting can hide a lot. I realized in December if I want to submit then make sure the coin has zero marks great strike and luster and you should be okay otherwise don't submit. Without the coin in hand only a rough estimate can be given. All in all you still try to help so thanks for that. With information at your fingertips it doesn't take forty years anymore. The CCF and internet have changed that.

@grosspoison.

I do not quote what you say because is not necessary. Here some give the opinion on different points of view base on many factors, and are personal. you come to say we do not see or we are wrong and you know better (not the first time). I want to tell you that are different worlds of collecting and for the moment in my opinion you are not on the really one. This one is the collectors, really ones, which do not care about slabs or any opinions except for varieties and some errors. your photos was enough good to see what you have is not collectable. Normal no one give you more then 5 bucks for this.

To be on the track with the collectors must be 67 and plus. Your observe at the first look go down 3 points. Reverse also. Then the marks will account also, so in collectable will be 62 or 63 max, which mean no interest.

Till now the only TPG who have an look from the collectors is ANACS and VSS for theirs accuracy on varieties and errors. The others just do marketing grading not more not less then this.

So please in the future take your conclusions on your own peace and do not hurt those who want to help with theirs's opinions and knowledge even they mistake..

Thanks.

I think you should grade it.

Okay hfjacinto , I will definitely pay 17 dollars just to prove that YOU guys were right all along. I will show you!

To show you that I will be a man about it, I will post results in the future. I was caught off guard with the different greens and rich purple. I was thinking it's a coin unlike what I had seen before. I know I get too excited about the coins. When the excitement fades so will my interest. the only five I sent since late November received three 66+ a 66 and a dud ( the one coin I thought would be the best I had ever submitted). I am knocking on the door and these were all wheats. Now any wheat I submit will have to be way better than the 66+'s or don't submit. that narrows my choices down to nearly zero submissions. Although my collection maybe worthless to others it means something to me. Since each of our collections are for our personal enjoyment and not financial gain (or so I am told on the CCF) that should mean something. I know that the TPG's are a losing game no matter how good the coins are. I know what your comment really meant(or I think I have a good idea) either way I enjoy when you add to the comments.

Gros, I remember when I start the my own collection, not from my past relatives which go back a few hundred years. I learn from them when I was small kid to collect what I enjoy and later they upgrade me saying: "now is the time to go further but not crazy". So I do. I start with modern US coins from 62 to 64, then to add the varieties and then I find that is better to look 67 and better when it is possible. In fact I do not like the number 67, but no choice with some difficult years the Mint has. And believe or not, I spend more money for proper storage and design my own catalogs and slabbers and my lab for conservation of the coins. In fact what you say it is a passion, which give rewards in many ways.

So go ahead and most be cool, not imported by momentum feelings. This was and it is my philosophy of collecting and not resume only for coins.

You've shown us a lot of nice coins in the past, but having this one graded makes absolutely no sense to me.

I'm with BadThad on this one...I like natural toning. Given enough time, they'll all tone, tarnish, oxidize, whatever you choose to call it. Y'all can have all the red cents, I'll take all the toners. I prefer my one of a kind coins.

I literally just sent 119 mostly brown and red-brown Lincolns to PCGS. You do you Grospoisson, just a hobby, like any other, you do it for your enjoyment, not others, however you see fit. After all, hobbies are all just a way to waste money for the benefit of our entertainment or enjoyment. If you make a business out of your hobby, then that is a different beast altogether.

this is what its about. if you have the funds and you enjoy what you are doing then thats a personal decision. with the prices of todays coins, you never know when you will hit a good one. one of these coins you send in could pay for the cost of grading 30 coins. with everyone you send in you increase your skill in grading them which helps selecting the better ones in the future. it should be of no concern to anyone what you collect on how much you want to spend on them.
