I came across this half dollar, which I acquired many years ago and not sure where. I am considering getting it certified. Any suggestions? Any idea as to value?

Unusual to see a clip on a 50 cent piece but why would you want to spend the money getting it certified.
You know what it is. Can't help with value but maybe if SPP Ottawa sees this, he can give you some idea

. Nice coin. I agree, not worth having it graded.Maybe put it in an Air-Tite capsule.

I have a 1999 50 cent with a smaller 3 o"clock clip in a ANACS slab, bought only due to see very few clips or any errors on 50 cent pieces and the price was right like 40.00 but yours is on a 1967, collectors will pay more for that year, probably 300 to 400 bucks if graded in right auction who knows. Recent auction the 67 upset die went for around 15K and it wasn"t a true 180% rotation, this clip by no means is in this class of error, but the 1967 stuff seems to garner great prices.

Any seller or auction house can see that it a clip, so you don't need a piece of paper with plastic to say what you and any buyer already know. Just a guess, but I'd estimate it would cost you $100 or more, all in, with cert and postage/ins. A cert'd coin like this will add little, if any, to the buying price and you have to get your wallet out to pay the grader.

You won't recoup the cost of grading.

A beauty!! I have seen only a few, including one on a PL strike, but that's the largest 50c clip I have seen with a 1967 date. I bet you would get in excess of $150 for that one.

I am now the proud owner of this coin! Shame on me for attempting to solicit this coin off CCF (sorry SPP) but I managed to track down Dkboomer outside of CCF and made a deal! I will post pics on it's own thread once I have it in hand.
