Why did you think it was a Cheerios Dollar?

Years back they were worth some money but value has come down.

@yokozuna had a good story one time about selling a genuine Cheerios Dollar. Maybe someone can dig up that thread.

To answer the question, yes. And far above the face value even in circulated grades. As for the one in the image? No, a normal issue with a slight if any markup. Worthy of an album though.

So what did this packaging look like frome these cheerios boxes? Did it have any writing on the plastic packaging? This is the first I've really heard about these cheerios coins, but the other day at my uncles house, when his girlfriend came out to show me some coins, she had a sac dollar coin, in some plastic wrapper that looked like it would've came out of a cereal box! Almost like a candy wrapper with the jagged edges that make it easy to tear open, but had a coin company's name, maybe Littleton, only other thing I remember on the packaging was "uncirculated Sacagawea dollar" Maybe coins are sold like that all the time, but I've never seen it and found it odd you'd put an uncirculated coin in some cheap plastic like that?

Quote: So what did this packaging look like from these cheerios boxes? Did it have any writing on the plastic packaging? There were 10 million packages issued containing a 2000 cent. Of those 5500 also contained a 2000 dollar. This package was inside a specially marked box.

Went to your link @John1 but said product no longer available, but I did a quick search before leaving for work and only pic I found of original pkg was a black, maybe thin cardboard or thick paper, with the Sac & a penny, in vacuum sealed plastic, so is that the original packaging from the cereal box? This coin she had was in loose plastic wrapper, more like what a fortune cookie pkg! And about the same quality plastic as fortune cookie pkg, which threw me off, because this packaging wouldn't have protected the coin from anything but maybe fingerprints, I'm not even sure it was air tight! Do remember the top half of the plastic was painted yellow, where you couldn't see through, but bottom half was clear, where you could see coin? Don't remember seeing any reference to cheerios, but I guess it's possible I looked over

Sorry for the late response. Thanks for the info on the coin also. After a closer look I found a rim crack on it.

Looks more like a folded over Rim Fin.
