I came across this 1970 S Lincoln Cent. Searched the internet to compare small date v. large date. I see someone just posted a pic of the same coin, in better condition, but I still can't tell if it's the small date? The numbers all seem to be the same size except for the 0. But, I think the 0 may have been damaged and thus making it larger at the top? Any thoughts?

Looks like a LD. When you have a question about coins, instead of googling use the search box upper left of page here on CCF.

Agree. Large date. Easiest to look at the curl of the nine for this attribution

Yes, large date. Key (for me) is the curl of the 9. For comparison images, I typically have better luck doing google image searches than using the search feature on the forum--but that's only my opinion.

The easiest way to tell the difference is to look at the 9. If the loop of the 9 bends sharply toward the 7, it
is a small date.
If the loop of the 9 is angled toward the top of the mintmark, it is a large date.
The 9 in the small date is also "wider" looking than the 9 in the large date.

Another way to tell the difference is the height of the 7. In the small date the top of the 7 is just about
level with the 1,9 and 0. In the large date the top of the 7 is lower than the 1,9 and 0. Beware, this way
can be very deceiving.
