I haven't found anything earth-shattering yet, just minor issues from time to time, like a doubled die, a Cud, a couple of laminations, etc.

@Josh: I can answer if I will be clarified on the term ERRORS. You want Mint Errors or combinate with Mint Varieties?
PS: this could be interesting if also we say from how many approx. coins checks, then to go by denominations and years.

I'm not sure how to clarify major mint errors. I was thinking along the lines of Cuds, off center strikes, clipped planchets, and laminations.

of the various major error types, the one I've found most often is a lamination, clashed dies might be my second most, whereas I've found only a couple capped dies and clipped planchets

None. Not really looking, though; although I was on a CAM and WAM kick for a while.

1. Mint errors are rare. Most times a single coin event) 2. Common die events are common to find. 3. Damaged coins are not mint errors. WAM and CAM are year varieties. Not errors. Just like large and small dates/mintmarks are year varieties. 1992 WAM/CAM are also year varieties. RPM's/DDO / DDR are Die Varieties. So "looking for errors" is a vague term. Definitions are better.

I have no idea. I have lots of Variety Coins, And some mint error coins. But most I've bought. I'm more of a Variety Cent collector.

Major errors? Maybe 20 to 30. On this me I say: struck on wrong planchet, over denomination strike, foreign planchet use, wrong metal planchet. All this is irrelevant because find in wild?, for me wild is also when I take 10K bulk coins and past trough. Varieties design yes, many, but this is my main collection the varieties. For your Pool: the most hard to find are the quarters and the halves till now. I do not collect penny.

I have never done noodling for error coins in 5 decades of collecting, but I have stumbled across a few major obvious errors of all denominations in pocket change. I have also found a few major errors, when searching through dealers' World coin junk boxes at coin shows. I have considered all minor errors and die varieties to be relatively common, and have re released all of them back into circulation. Nevertheless, doing research into minor error coins can be invaluable training if you ever have the opportunity for doing die linking research in sequencing and thus more accurately dating ancient coins. This sort of research and training is essential for museum professionals, working with ancient coins recovered from large hoards. So, my advice to CRH'ers is:- if you are having fun, keep going !
