I was told by someone on reddit to post this here. I noticed this odd rim the other day, I believe the person who told me to post here was thinking it was some sort of damaged collar. Anyone here have any idea?

Not magnetic, won't open from bouncing around in a plastic cup, weights 5.07 grams.

I'm no help; can't even make an intelligent guess.
But I'll be watching to see responses.

I think this is an example of a partial collar. Going all the way around the circumference its also called a Railroad Rim.

Thanks for the welcomes and replies! I'll just put it to the side for now, maybe one day I can figure it out for sure. I have a couple other modern "errors" I'll post later to get opinions on.

A partial collar would be expanded larger than the area contained in the collar.

To me it looks like something smaller was squeezed on the outside center edge of the coin. Altering is by compressing slightly the center of the edge of the coin post strike.

to the CCF Defiantly interesting. Waiting for a good answer. Maybe a very thin bezel.
