AU58 Details, cleaned. Looks overdipped, and has since retoned. Surfaces look pretty lifeless. Could be sellers pics. Nicely struck though.

The fully struck head detail is killer! I'm not seeing any wear and despite lacking luster, the fields are clean. Perhaps MS-62 due to no luster.

this one has a similar look to the 1845 dollar you posted previously. the coin looks like it was cleaned and all the original surfaces have been removed. there is something going on around the Y on the shield as well as other marks on the shield. UNC details in my book

Nice 1876-S Type 1. Another date with lots of die marriages, but it looks like it may be WB-32 (die marriage 26T). If it is WB-32, obverse die 26 is pitted (rusted?), and has several small die chips, especially in the shield.

I see very little evidence of circulation, with some wear in the usual high points. The obverse die is worn, so that affects the appearance a bit. The reverse wear is fully consistent with a strong slider.

IMHO, old cleaning, market acceptable. One thing that gives me pause is what could be mild surface doctoring on the scratches west of the rock and between the "1" and the rock support. I don't think it's enough for a 94 code, but it does detract a bit from the overall appearance.

At $290, the price is spot on for a mid-to-high AU.

(BTW, it might be a fun variety collection to try to assemble a full variety set for this date. Last I heard, there are at least 48 known die marriages, with new marriages still being found off and on.)
