I may be developing A Trade dollar issue. This one I traded A 2021 D raw ms-68 looking and a MS 69 looking 2021 O privy and gave a hundred bucks. To me that was A nice fair trade. Small S Weight good , width good , sounds like silver and tested perfect on the sigma tester. This one has really nice light golden color and nice eye appeal minus the finger print looking mark on her head. Lots of luster . My thinking is looks AU-53 but would grade AU-50 with the finger print. Looks like it may of been whipped gently by a rag but nothing bad and I have Many Morgans that have graded straight like that no issues . Coin has alot of luster still. Hopefully photos show some of it.

Reverse is nice. Obverse has problems. I think one of the most valuable lessons that this forum and its esteemed members have taught me is to walk away from other people's problems. I am a slow and stubborn learner, but I hope you will be better than me in this regard.

haha yeah I walked away from my 2021 Morgan problem. This coin does look nice in good light. The dark colors on the obverse are amplified by the lighting I think and more of a darker peach color in hand.

That first 76S looks nice but I suspect it will hammer quite a bit higher. I will say this coin looks much nicer in hand than these do though. Plus this was more of a trade to get out of the 2021 Morgan's than anything and it does look nice.

I have some concerns about the example being genuine. The denticles to the left of the date and above liberty appear to be off. Solid strike on stars, but the branch has a weak strike. The date has 55 die pairs. The rare mini s is in the correct position, but I could not find a genuine example that matched the date position with the mini s. I am not sure how many die pairs were used with the mini s.

Slider I found it on John Cox's registry C-53.1 High Date Far Right / Small S set lower right tilted left Reverse Break here is a photo of the break on my coin and front and back from the example on the SSDC Registry Good match . Same details on the denticles .

Your coin is genuine. I found a NGC MS65 mini s with the same date position and denticles weakness.

Mottled surfaces detract considerably on the OP's original example, looks like a details coin.

thanks Slider Its a nice example in hand as well. Doubt this is a details coin. Highly doubt It would not be if it where a Morgan.

Obverse just shy of AU-50, reverse AU-53, net AU-50, straight grade. The obverse surface splotching is distracting, but superficial. This coin might be a good candidate for conservation. The contact marks are grade appropriate.

i see an AU50 obv, AU53 reverse. the coin may grade straight at AU50 but surface preservation is on the low end with hits, marks & scratches across most surfaces. it may be candidate for preservation which will help a little. not one I would consider if I was in the market for one but thats just me
