This is the ugliest coin in the box so far. I usually wouldn't bother with a coin in this condition (but) it's a 1989. So I had to flip it just to see. Ouch reverse is worse. This is the 3rd one I've found in last six months. It's the best condition of all three.

No such animal. 88 with the reverse of 89 yes, not the other way around.

I had it backwards.
@makecents that explains it pretty good.
I see the FG is closer to the memorial on 006 also.
Please correct me if I'm still off.

Rob, if it is closer, it's negligible. Your example does look a little closer but would just say it's due to a worn out die and mushy devices. If you look at the examples of VV's, I don't see a lot of difference in distance. You may be thinking of CLAMs and WAMs, you can see differences in the closeness in those transitional varieties.
