1961 D Lincoln Memorial Cent, Extra Strip Running Down East Side Of Bust?

CCB420 Pillar of the Community United States 588 Posts	Posted 04/27/2022 08:41 am So I found this one in my pile of '60's pennies and first set aside for the mint mark, but then I saw this line running the length of the bust, it runs the length of the bust from his hair all the way down. Looks very uniform, but I can't find any DDO that matches! All the Machine Doubling I've seen has been on the letters but maybe this is common? Having trouble getting good pics, but u can see it as plain as day under magnification! See if anyone else can see from pics Report this Post to the Staff

I literally looked with 3 different types of lights, could see with all 3 under magnification!? (like the hit on the jaw) On the should it looks like some scarping on that area. Also caused by coin contact. Top of the '1' is a contact mark. Just a cull coin now. There are a lot of better examples you can find out there. This one is not one of them. (99% of incuse marks are from other coin damage. 1% are mint errors) Report this Post to the Staff
