Hi all,

This Morgan is dirtier than it appears. Would a dip in 100% acetone hurt it? Please grade as you see it.

Wouldn't hurt, but probably wouldn't help either.

Very fine details due to horrible cleaning and polishing. A dip in acetone, or just about anything else, is not gonna help it one bit.

Acetone won't do anything to this coin.

In my opinion, an acetone soak might remove some film/thinly layered gunk, but only some. Not much to lose by trying.
Rest in Peace

I agree with dave on the strike. the coin should not be that flat. this year is known for sharp and bold strikes and should even show at least remnants of that even if its AU

there is no doubt in my mind the coin was cleaned
I'm going with AU details on this one. shes worth melt

i cant confirm its authentic but if you were going to counterfeit a coin why would you make it look like this on a common coin.

My first look was that the coin was a fake because of the soft details. If the coin passes the weight, magnet test, it is most likely genuine as why use silver to counterfeit a $20 coin.

That is wear, not strike. This is not an uncirculated coin.

So yeah, this Morgan is real as it passes the magnet test, weighs in at 26.75 grams. I took the new images in daylight. What's I find odd is, the O, W and R in - God We Trust, have little to no real definition. It is still dirtier than the images.

VF-35 details, cleaned. Acetone won't help it.
