2021 D Roosevelt Dime Possible Die Chip

Time for another lesson. This is a 2021 dime with what I think is a die chip error. On the reverse just to the left of the torch, in the top leaf, there is a raised metal spot. Let me know what you think this is and thanks for the help.

If that mark is incuse, then it is damage. If it is raised above the fields/design, then it has a shot a die chip. (but die chips are not a premium, but a die event.) If this is damage, it is just a face value coin.

May be, but with these pictures it's impossible to say for sure. Unfortunately with it being that minor not really worth anything over face value.

Possible die chip, but a better in focus pic is needed. Try to get the lighting from the side (one side only), not directly above. That will give an appearance of depth.

Thanks for the help. I never really look for value much. I'm just trying to understand the odd things I see on the coins and I usually hang on to those for reference. Let me see if I can get a better photo this morning and post it.

OK... This is definitely PMD. I had to fashion a coin holder out of a large paper clip to hold the coin at just the right angle to see it. This is what I got.

Yes, it is incuse. Damage to the coin. Thanks for the extra image. (All can learn from great images)
