1990 Penny with what appears to have two die cracks. One larger crack running through "I" and a second very minor crack coming from the right lower corner of the memorial? Looking for confirmation of those cracks versus post mint damage. Your help is always appreciated.

While the darker shadows make an interesting look, what causes this is too low of an angle with the light source. Higher and closer to center are the better uses of light. A single light source is better for images as with on light you have light and shadows. If you place the lighting just right, you can get the shadows to paint a better picture for you:

Allow the light to fall across the coin, and the let the shadows show what is going on. Most of the time, the sue of light spotslights the devices and creates glare, but using a different angle you can get the images you really desire.

CoopHome: How can I get better shots to show what I want others to see on coin images? The secret is not as hard as you may think. Try these suggestions.

nice photos in my opinion.
Very nice die cracks - for some reason, this is a VERY common location for a cent die to crack (on all 4 corners) of the Memorial building.
