1897-S Barber Quarter - Fa-2 Or Ag-3 And Value?

CoinEnthusiast Valued Member United States 485 Posts	Posted 05/07/2022 4:09 pm Hi, everyone; I hope this is meeting you at a good time. I recently picked up an 1897-S Barber quarter on ebay. I got it at a phenomenal price because the seller didn't list it as an S-minted coin. Regardless, I was curious to hear some of your thoughts on the grade of the coin, specifically whether it's a FA-2 or AG-3. Additionally, I know that 1897-S Barber quarters come with either a centered mintmark or a mintmark set off to the side. My coin is the centered mintmark, which is supposed to be much scarcer than the mintmark off to the side. Does that increase the value at all? What do you think the value is? Mrhakfbacon Pillar of the Community United States 579 Posts	Posted 05/07/2022 5:25 pm Obverse is AG, though the reverse looks FA. Good thing the mintmark is still there. Probably around Fair-2.
