Hello,

My grandfather left me some coins after he passed. I have looked through them and noticed 3 wheat pennies that looked a bit different. I am wondering if any of them are notable in any way.

Here are some images of them.

BTW I'm new here so if this is in the wrong place, I apologize

Thank you

We you glad you can ask us!

On your 1953 or 1958 Wheat cent, that large S above the date is what you call a counterstamp, done post mint and several collectors collect these. Now the 1910 and 1925 cents both suffer from post mint damage at the rims. These are all from the Philadelphia mintmark and all three dates are common with the one in the 50s being very common. The 1910 is the 2nd year Lincoln Cent though.

Thank you for the information. I'm not sure what the S counterstamp is from or what it means but it sure is interesting.

If there is a contact mark on the outside edge of the rim, it is damage to the coin. Just can't see it that well from the images provided.
