Hi, I'm new to coin collecting and run across this 1999D Jefferson nickel. I was wondering what to do with it as far as having it certified, or if anyone has seen anything like it before.
Jefferson's hair is in a way that I've never seen.
Any information would be great.
Thanks for having me in the community.

. That is damage from a coin counting/wrapping or vending machine. Not an error and worth 5¢

Agree--damage caused by a Coin Wrapping Machine. The circular trace can be seen in Jefferson's coat as well. We do see many similar examples--cents, quarters, etc., etc.

I cropped and rotated your images correctly. In the future please do this before posting. There are tools below the posting box to help if needed.
