1972 Penny Possible Doubled Die Obverse / DDO Visible On "in God We Trust" And On Date. Need Help Identifying.

coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 05/09/2022 7:25 pm Correct. Master die doubling on 50% of the cents that year from all three mints. Not Machine Doubling. I haven't gotten my scope hooked up to my computer yet and have been taking pics of the screen. I will make sure to get better pics next time. I also appreciate the images you've shared. The master die doubling is most visible in your images on the N (IN) & D (GOD). Master die doubling is interesting but not valuable since it is pretty common like Coop said. Dowhat Pillar of the Community United States 876 Posts	Posted 05/10/2022 5:50 pm This Master die doubling was pointed out to me quite some time ago here. It sure can get your dander up during the educational process. But once you recognize it for what it is, it helps you move along more quickly. If I remember correctly, Master hub doubling is common to many. Hub doubling is a different story. I am I on the right track here? Report this Post to the Staff
