Looks like doubling on the obverse of this 1972 no mint mark Lincoln Cent. I'm new to all of this and I'm not sure if this would be considered DDO.

We see lots of Machine Doubling on cents from the late 1960s and early 1970s. I wonder if this is another example.

Not a DD, that is Machine Doubling, a worthless type of doubling.
Please do not use screen shots, they are too pixilated and makes
it hard to see the detail.

the doubling on your coin is a result of a Doubled Master Die, WMDO-001....https://doubleddie.com/384301.html

check out the "COMMENTS" section at the bottom of the link.

Correct. Master die doubling on 50% of the cents that year from all three mints.

Not Machine Doubling. But just as common as it appears on 50% of the coins from all the mints.

Not Machine Doubling. Master die doubling. Take another look at the images I posted. Just what the master doubled dies looked like.

I apologize for the quality of the pictures. I haven't gotten my scope hooked up to my computer yet and have been taking pics of the screen. I will make sure to get better pics next time.

I also appreciate the images you've shared. I'm a visual learner and this helps me know what to look for. You all are awesome! Thank you.

Just seeing this and agree with Coop and John1.

The master die doubling is most visible in your images on the N (IN) & D (GOD).
Master die doubling is interesting but not valuable since it is pretty common like Coop said.

This Master die doubling was pointed out to me quite some time ago here. It sure can get your dander up during the educational process.
But once you recognize it for what it is, it helps you move along more quickly.
If I remember correctly, Master hub doubling is common to many. Hub doubling is a different story.
I am I on the right track here?
