Poll Question
In looking at the forum posts, most of the photos and threads pertain to silver finds, so I started wondering, why does everyone hunt rolls? For me, I started hunting rolls as a way to cheaply increase my silver stack and avoid the current outrageous premiums. But in doing so it has reignited my interest in coin collecting as well. Since I started I have assembled an almost complete set of BU Kennedy halves (minus my nemesis, the 2013P). I have also started branching out to other denominations now.

Coin roll hunting gives me something else to do while I watch TV or old radio shows.

I no longer roll hunt, but when I did it was primarily to fill holes in my collection. I do have a stash of duplicate wheat cents and silver half dollars, but that was never the goal. I once traded a significant portion of the half dollars (mostly Kennedy) to a coin dealer to acquire the remaining Franklin half dollars for my set.

I still roll hunt. Primary motivation is simply to feed a love for coins. If I find cool stuff, all the better.

I was a CRH addict, for six years straight. With the help of family and fiends, I've recovered. Built a nice stack though.

Of course adding to the stack is nice. I still really enjoy the hunt. The thrill of opening a roll and not knowing what is in there is good for me. However when that same roll contains a few silver coins very satisying to say the least.

I do it to add to my stack and to my collection. It is to me a sub-hobby of coin collecting. Adding silver is a plus!
