I just recently began collecting coins and came across this at an estate sale. The estate belonged to a serious collector who suffered from mental issues one of them was hoarding. The estate was filled with valuable collectibles, most ruined and covered with animal feces. The coin here is covered in rat urine and other filth so it's hard to see if there is an error. I thought perhaps a skilled set of eyes might see through the crud. Should I attempt to clean it or send it in to be cleaned and graded? Can it be cleaned? If it were graded as is what kind of grade would it receive? I would say those are full bands on the reverse, but would feel more comfortable if I heard it from somebody else. What kind of price should I ask for if there isn't an error? I'm not sure at all if this is a 1942/41 error, and know how rare they are, however, this guy had rare collectibles everywhere so it wouldn't surprise me
if it was. Thanks for the advice and all the help, I'm excited to hear everyone's thoughts.

. I do not think it is a FB=full bands or a 42/41. Not worth sending in. You might try a dip in 100% pure acetone not standard nail polish remover.

how do you know it is RAT URINE and not ordinary domestic CAT URINE?
scratch and sniff test?

there is a big difference in coin premium but I think ICG would designate on holder RAT URINE if DNA comes out true.

for the 42 over 41, we need close up pictures of the date. also a close up picture of IGWT would be helpful too.

Guessing not, but a closeup of the date will confirm.

I would first start with a good acetone (pure acetone from a hardware store - NOT fingernail polish)
Although, I'm not seeing any over date here either as NSS stated.
