I will have this Cent in-hand early next week if more photos are needed. I would like to hear some thoughts on the area above the date. Thanks for any help!

Looks like a lamination that has folded over.

Agree with the upthread, retained folded lamination. The folded portion coming from the tip of the neck

Here's a similar effect on one of mine. These two coins would look great in the same collection but I don't think that's in the cards. ;)

PCGS just slabbed it "Obv Planchet Lamination" XF45.
