Poll Question
I recently read a letter to the editor in Coinage magazine. He was complaining about articles on world coins in the magazine.

He goes on to say that he knows no one who collects world coins. He admits there may be a few, but guesses that US collectors outnumber world collectors by a margin of 500-1.

Lets see if he's right.

What kind of a collector are you?

Poll Choices
US coins (I live in US)
US coins (I don't live in US)
World coins (I live in US)
World coins (I don't live in US)
US and World (I live in US)

I mainly collect US coins, though I have a habit of putting any round piece of metal with a face or a number on it in a 2x2...

I don't think anyone will vote in the last category. If you don't live in the US, US coins are world coins!

Out of 600 or so coins in my current hoarde, only four are from the U.S. An Indian Head penny, steel penny and two buffalo head nickels.

QuickSilver,

Good eye! I got a little carried away typing my choices and didn't think that one through very well. I edited the poll and got rid of that one.

i picked u.s. and world my grandfather gave me world coins in 2x2 in plastic sheets that he passed down to me his father collected them all so.

if it wasn't for them I would probably just collect u.s. but I like things about u.s. and world coins so I collect both.

for instance I like the idea of having other designs on the coins besides presidents

Sorry Sir Ferrari,

You "old-timers" will have to pick "world"

Sir Ferrari is a young person if I remember correct, he had a guess my age contest once.
I see you have a new avatar, maybe it makes you look older Sir?

I voted US coins only but I do have other odd stuff.
There are some really cool looking world coins.
Mostly I concentrate on one series the most.
Can you guess which one?

There is a section in CCF for us to post what we collect.

When I referred to Sir Ferrari as an "old-timer", I was referring to his ancient coins, not him.
