Well this isn't a bonded pairing you see everyday. Begs the age old question, mint error or entrepreneurial mint employee with an empty prison wallet?  And is it really MS64RD? I would think this would be a no grade. What do you recken this would fetch in one of the bigger well-known yearly auctions on a good day?  |

Maybe there should be a distinction between "Mint" errors and "Assisted Mint" errors? Although hard to know for sure on this one I guess.

PCGS omitted to put the screw diameter and others specs LOL. Probably after this strike they change complete all the components of the press. If I am not wrong this screw was a part of the Observe adjustment on the old presses.
Do the screw has the same diameter with the bullet shot in his head at the theater? PCGS miss this.

How the dies faired probably depended on how hardened the screw was. Back in 43 the dies struck a number of steel items.
