Not the best seller photos but I'm eyeing it up. What do you think the grade is?

Obverse pic is too dark to see surface details clearly.

From these photos I would say MS-63 tops.

The reverse and the obverse fields scream 66. Unfortunately the cheek and neck scream a botched plastic surgery and facial reconstruction 62. So, I'll go for an overall grade of 64.

I played with the photos a bit. The obverse is actually pretty clean. There is one knock on the cheek, and light chatter on the cheek. There is one small mark in the field west of the nose. Beyond that, I don't see anything of concern. The reverse has a ding on the eagle's left wing (our visual right) and some very minor chatter. The rims are nice. The overall appearance looks solid. Even with fairly tough grading applied to the 1880-S dollars, this looks like a solid MS-64.

MS 64 Obverse is somewhat weakly struck for an 1880-S
The San Francisco Morgans from 1878 to 1881 are widely available in high grades and are usually above average in strike and surfaces

the shadowing from the lighting on the obv is making observations on the surface a challenge. I'm going with fortcollins comment on what it looks like after he played with it a little.
paralyse called the strike. it should be sharp and bold. a tad weak around the ear and the breast is not fully struck up which will affect the grade imo. although strike is considered in grade I always wondered if the actual person grading these take into consideration the known strike patterns for that year.
a little too much light on reverse is washing out surfaces but they look pretty clean and luster appears to be intact across all surfaces. if the obv is as clean as fortcollins comment leads one to believe the obv should come in very close to 65. but he had no comment on the luster. I have to assume there is some break in it so without better photos I'm going with MS64+. if the luster is there then MS65

Overgraded in my opinion but I would need to see different pictures.

Tough to grade from the photos but just a couple of tiny hits on the obverse so 66 seems appropriate.
