Hi again. I have a couple Wheaties that I've had put aside because of there strange appearance. Both look like they have they have the same thing going on. They don't feel textured like they look and they actually have a little shine to them. Is this damage? Toning? I have tried to find something similar but haven't had any luck. Thanks for looking.

I'm going to guess they are woodys but it's hard to tell.

I agree with it being woodies. It is an alloy mix issue.

soak it in acetone for a day, you might have a nice wood grain look on the coin

Just don't soak it in bleach it might remove all the wood grain .

Very nice woodie! This one is different from the 'classic' wood grain we usually see. Maybe a 'scrambled egg'
